MS Excel: Freeze Panes in Excel 2011 for Mac

My Mac Keyboard Function Key Shortcut Doesn't Work
The keyboard shortcut conflicts with a default Mac OS X key assignment.
Turn off the Mac OS keyboard shortcut.
For OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
- Click "system preferences".
- Under Hardware, click Keyboard
- Tick "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.

Filling the Cells for Mac Excel (Useful Shortcuts, Filling down)
Fill Down -- copies the content of a cell to all highlighted below
Shortcut: Control + d
Then, press "control" + "d".
Fill Right - copies the content of a cell to all highlighted to the right.
The procedure is similar to fill down.
Shortcut: Control + r
Fill up a selected range of cells
Copy content of a cell after you enter to a selected range of cells.
Shortcut: Control + Return
1. Highlight a range of cells
2. Enter the content
3. press "control" + "return"

Where is the location of Word for Mac and Powerpoint for Mac store user templates?
For Word and PowerPoint 2011, templates are stored inside your home folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/My Templates.
How to get there ????
Since "Library" folder is hidden in Lion, you can go there by the following
1. Click "go" from the menu in Finder
2. Select "go to Folder ... "
3. Enter "~/Library"
4. Click "go" by holding down "Opt/Alt" key.
Then the "Library" folder will show in the Finder window.

Remove Not Use Applications under "Open With"
The list of programs for Open with… is maintained in the Launch Services database.
You can rebuild the database by the following command
he lsregister command, found at System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister, can tell the database to reset.
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
Note that utilities like Onyx or Cocktail can also reset this database for you.
